Building Trades Technology Degree, HVACR Area of Concentration
If you're interested in becoming an HVACR (heating, ventilation, air conditioning
and refrigeration) technician, or if you're a current building and construction professional
looking to advance your essential HVACR skills, our HVACR program will provide the
training, skills, and knowledge you need.
You'll receive a comprehensive mixture of academic and practical training. Coursework
is laboratory intensive complemented with additional classroom studies. In order to
receive the AAS degree, you must pass the EPA 608 Certification Exam.

Program Outcomes
Upon completion of this program, a student will be able to:
- Define and explain the basic principles and techniques of residential construction.
- Apply construction skills relevant to the HVACR trade.

Curriculum
A suggested course sequence for Building Trades Technology - HVAC majors follows.
- All students should review the advising guide and consult an advisor.

- Most courses have either assessment levels that must be met or prerequisites (courses that must be taken first). Part-time students and those who need to meet assessment levels or take prerequisite courses will take longer to complete a degree. An advisor will help make sure you are taking your courses in the right order.
- All degree-seeking students must take a central group of General Education courses in English, mathematics, arts, behavioral and social sciences, humanities, and science. These courses are included in the suggested course sequence below.
